WEEK 12: SHORT MOVIE-PEER ASSESSMENT

In this media arts  tutorial, we showed the whole class our finished short film and our synopsis. After that, we gave our synopsis and our film to the other group. We were given a predetermined criteria sheet to assess our peer work.  This activity showed me how to assess students and reasons why a teacher needs to assess the students. Assessing students helps to determine how much they are learning and what they are struggling with. By assessing students, the teacher can help students achieve their goals. This is a group project, a teacher can assess how students interact with others and how they participate in group settings. From this group project, we learnt how to work together to ensure that we could complete the film by the dealine and meet the required criteria.

Here is our synopsis for our short film " JASMINE".

Synopsis: Jasmines father was the sultan of the land. Life was good for Jasmine and her father. One day, Aladdin and his army invaded the castle, killed Jasmines father and installed himself as Sultan. Jasmine escaped and went on to lead a simple life working as a taxi driver using her magic carpet. One day Jasmine is approached by an evil sorcerer disguised as an old man. He asks her to help him find and enter into the hidden cave of wonders. Jasmine agrees and one night she and the sorcerer discover and enter the cave. When Jasmine grabs the lamp that the sorcerer is looking for, the cave collapses and within the chaos, the sorcerer is killed, nut Jasmine is not hurt. Jasmine is trapped in the cave and by chance she discovers that the lamp is magical! She rubs the lamp and out pops the Genie. The Genie explains that Jasmine has 3 wishes and that there are rules (Genie explains the rules to Jasmine). Jasmine uses her first wish to get herself out of this cave. The Genie zaps himself and Jasmine to outside the Sultans castle. That is when Jasmine sees Aladdin and confronts him. During this confrontation Genie asks Jasmine if she would like to make another wish. Jasmine agrees and wishes revenge on Aladdin, she wishes him to be gone forever! Genie thinks on this wish and traps Aladdin in a lamp for all of eternity! Jasmine and the Genie rejoice! The land is theirs to rule forever. Jasmine realises that she is in love with the Genie (or is it just the power??) and uses her third wish to free the Genie. They live happily ever after ruling the land together forever.
